Yeah. I was flipping through an old magazine the other day, and his designs are by far the most orignal and best looking ones in there.

ya he's kinda like the true "garage shop" backyard boy, but he comes up w/ some wild designs, u see that spokeless or hubless rear wheel he came up w/ - pretty amazing stuff. He seems like he builds by eye & not so much by measuring much or much calculating, but has some very cool rides!

It's horribly overpriced. But I just love the profile of his frames. They look like a praying mantis or something.

That's interesting considering he supposedly has a Masters in Mechanical Engineering and a Masters in The Philosophy of Engineering.

$15K for a Hardtail roller with an off-the-shelf fender, a mildly streched Sporty tank, and a freakin' Springer front end? :ugh:

He's a down-to-earth person. If you've ever been to a Smokeout, you'd know this. :dunno:

120 spoke wheels, molded sheetmetal, that's a custom springer, seatpan, forward controls and oil tank.

basically you can take your Shovelhead or whatever, buy that, and drop it in. Buy some cables and hook up your stock brakes, take it to the painter. for $20k you now have a bike that could sell for 25k.

    so yeak, it's worth it.

Yeah dude...Billy Laine is tight. I have seen some of the stuff he has made...and heard and seen some stuff about the smoke outs. When i get a little older and settled in a carrer I am springin for a chopperf rom billy...but i have a condition...i want to help build it...otherwise i don't feel right owning a chopper.
