depends on what you want out of it....

are you going to go wheeling? or just mall crawling? wheeling means strong, light, and tucked up into the vehicle .... mall = that thing you posted.

if you are interested in a custom piece, i make them on the side for the 97-05 wranglers.

any options you want, i can do. base bumper starts at 250 ... i can add shackle mounts, titanium mounting re-inforcment, any tube work you want and any light mounts. i can drill for winch's and fairleads, too. i dont paint, but i do have a guy that powder coats for me.

lead time right now is 6 weeks (build and coat) as im busy with repo's and with orders.

basically the way i work is to talk to you extensively and get the best idea i can of what you want, draw it up, and make sure its what you want before i start on it.

PM me if you are interested.

I don't know what you mean by mall crawling, I think i'm a bit old for that, I want a vehicle that i won't lose in the parking lot and I hate the look of the OEM bumper-

Do you have any pics of previous work?

mall crawling = big gaudy hunks of shit that weigh 500 lbs, have way too much shit on them, and are drilled for 13 winches, 47 lights, a stereo mount, and an ice cream dispenser .... i.e. worthless shit. the stuff i do is pretty simplistic as that is what i have found to work best off road ... i do mostly stubby bumpers that barely extend out past the fender, if past the frame rail at all. stingers, small light bars, fairlead mounts, winch mounts, and light tabs.

ill get some pics this weekend when i get back to my house as im on a trip right meow.

I've crash tested this bumper into another Wrangler in an unfortunate incident in the sand dunes.

Turns out the Road Armor bumper does have a crumple zone... the other Jeep is totalled and mine has minor damage in comparison.

yea, I had an ARB on my Tacoma and those things had crumple zones where it attached to the frame.

ARB's do in general but NOT on TJ's. On TJ's they wrap around the frame just like most of the Warn / MORE / Hansen style Jeep bumpers.

When the animation starts, that flat panel going accross is what goes against the front of the TJ's frame.

Good memory! Was wondering where I'd seen that screen name and avatar before...

KGT, did you mention me while ordering? I'll be ordering a replacement front and a new rear soon... having a local shop look at what would be involved in making my front look new again to determine how soon I order the new RA's.

I'd love to post pictures of the damage for you but until both cars are repaired or replaced our 4x4 club has a strict no chit-chat about accidents policy...

if you send me the template for the mounting holes / bolts i can see what i can do ....

i dont have a template for the ZJ rear .... but the bumper, tire carrier, fairy can, and shackle mounts are easy enough ...

i can make them ... i need a template of all the mounting holes for the bumper. on the uni-body frame, obviously, the more you have, the better it will be.

ill see if i can get ZJ and XJ bumper templates ....

Here's a link to a mount for an XJ bumper. The bumper would mount to the non-tapered end. They are pretty lengthy, but are useful in reinforcing the steering box area. Plenty of mounting holes too. Can't remember the spacing from outside rail to outside rail though.
