  1. Not sure what you guys think of the book, or even if you've read it, but heres the trailer.

Great cast, great director, and a great trailer. :coolugh:

The cast sreams liberal, anti-war garbage, but I don't know much about the book. Someone want to fill me in? From that footage, it doesn't show any anti-anything, just looks like a war movie, period - however ... that may be a trick! :noes:

I read "Jarhead". Wasn't impressed, as it was full of a lot of chest thumping and lacked something all good sniper books have. Not going to say what though. They should make a movie about either Hathcock or the marine, "The Shooter" is based on.

I'm just a civilian that likes to read crazy military shit.:hs:

Coughlin's book is pretty good, the thing is, it seems like he brags about the killing but tries to not act like he's bragging, if that makes sense....

i don't know if it would make a good movie tho

I'm not going to be seeing it.

The book was awful and the author is the epitome of a shitbird. It was immature bullshit anti-Marine whining from beginning to end (dark is gonna love this :mamoru: ), in his book he said that he would steal equipment from other Marines and sell them in town to buy beer, and let's not forget how he put his M16 to the head of another Marine.

If they were going to make a movie about Marines, why not make it about Chesty Puller, Carlos Hathcock, or one of the many other legendary Marines?

I read the book. I enjoyed it.. Not in a way that made admire the author in anyway (many times he is quite detestable and a bit full of himself) - It was, for me, just an interesting book about the perspective of a person that was involved in Desert Storm.
