can anyone link me where i can read on exactly how and what jailbreak does to the ipod touch. does it flash the ipod so theres a risk of bricking it? or it all just installations and modifications. thanks

Zero risk of bricking. Should something go wrong you can just put the Touch into restore mode and go back to the factory defaults.

ok cool. ill do this when i get my ipod. thing is i seeing 1.1.4 or something like that...now is that the current ipod update or the newest jailbreak version. im going to be getting an ipod without the january updates its the A model. so if i jailbreak it comes with the jan. updates and watever else i want right? i like the zero bricking part btw. makes it less scary and makes me more to do it.
    thanks

EDIT: also been seeing people having problems jailbreaking 16gb? true?
