Chuck Liddell (Pictures) will finally get a chance to erase the only un-avenged loss of his stellar mixed martial arts career when he takes a second crack at Quinton Jackson (Pictures) on May 26, Jackson's manager and trainer Juanito Ibarra told Sherdog.com Sunday.

There was speculation that Jackson (26-6-0) had asked for another tune-up fight before wanting to face the UFC light heavyweight champion, however Ibarra indicated the Liddell bout should be officially announced by Tuesday of this week.

In their previous encounter, a PRIDE Grand Prix semifinal bout in November 2003, Jackson stopped Liddell in just over 13 minutes. Liddell (20-3-0) has not tasted defeat since, winning seven in a row, including two wins apiece against Tito Ortiz (Pictures) and Randy Couture (Pictures).

Jackson has had mixed results since defeating Liddell, compiling a 7-3 record (all three losses by KO) including a pair of devastating knockout losses to former PRIDE 205-pound champion Wanderlei Silva (Pictures). "Rampage" made his February UFC debut a success, knocking out Marvin Eastman (Pictures) in the second round.

you guys overestimate Liddell, and underestimate Rampage. He's taken some serious shots before getting KO'ed... and he can take anything that Liddell might throw at him before he gets tired or taken down... and I'm confident that Rampage can keep him down and work from there.

I hate liddell but I don't see this fight going longer than 2 rounds. Liddell has been on a tear since his loss to Rampage, and Rampage has been on a decline since the win.

besides the Lindland fight, 'page hasn't put on an impressive fight in the past several years, whereas chuck still looks hungry and continues finish off all of his opposition

and i love the man to no end

Rampage didn't even look impressive in the Lindland fight. He barely won.

Lindland's a beast though, and Rampage did damn well to not only neutralize Lindland's grappling, he out-wrestled him a lot of times

you can lose and still look impressive

i'm not counting 'page out, it's just that laying everything on the table, chuck has the advantage advantage

chuck's a better striker, has obviously more experience in the cage, is on an awesome (finishing) streak, has looked really good in past years against good fighters, has excellent takedown defense, etc etc.

rampage is a wildcard as far as what he brings to the ring. however, he hasn't shown the hunger and ferocity that he once did, but still possesses the ability to put anybody through the mat

i love rampage, and i love liddell, but god damn it- if i was quinton i would be pissed. He did look like he needed a tune-up after the eastman fight....
why are they giving him a title shot so soon? because dana does NOT want rampage to beat liddell...and putting him in while hes still a little " rusty" is the best way to give liddell a better chance.
Ill have to say, this fight here, chuck takes it-i really would have liked to see this fight down the road..oh well, it should be one HELL of a good fight.

Rampge looked awfully rusty against Eastman... I'm worried that he just isn't quite ready to face Liddell yet... I think Wandy losing to Hendo kinda spooked the UFC... and now they are rushing the Liddell/Rampage fight imho, to make sure Rampage doesn't accidentally lose a "tune-up" fight which would ruin their big pay day...

how so? chuck can neutralize anything 'page throws at him

much of it depends on what 'page brings to the fight this time, which is always a HUGE variable it seems
