About to buy one -- maybe an ignorant question but how much tighter is my waistline gonna be?

haha, just don't feel like buying a new pair of jeans for my carry.

Yup, depends how your jeans are. I can wear IWB is most all my jeans, with the exception of my "dress" jeans.

I ended up buying new slacks for work 2 inches bigger to accommodate the IWB holster, works well for me. My jeans were already a size big and they seem to fit fine.

Try it out with what you have first though before you go out and buy a new wardrobe.

i find its alot easier if you put the holster on your pants, close pants, buckle belt then put the gun in.

I used to wear a 38 waist.... I lost weight and I HAVE to wear a belt with all my pants.

I carry a small (thin) J-frame in a thin leather holster @ 1 'o' clock. It moves my waistband just over an inch forward of where it would normally sit without the pistol there.

Throw a t-shirt over it, even athletic fit and it dissapears. It will depend on your pistol of choice, holster and body type.

If you mind me asking, what body type are you (ghey)?

My shoulders aren't that much wider than my frame or hips so IWB gets tricky with me.

Wider shoulders will make certain shirts drape over the hips better.... easier to conceal anything.

4 sizes larger. And Aker B21, son.
    If you're a size34-ish, go with a 38 belt.

I'm almost similar, but I prefer to have the gun in the holster, and when I'm putting my gun/holster on I put it on, position it, then I button up, zip and tighten my belt. A lot more comfy for me.

Don't put your pants on, tighten your belt, and then try to add the gun with holster later. It's more work when you try to adjust it.

Don't cost you anything to try it out that way. :)

If it matters I'm 6'3" 250 with pretty wide sholders (gut too though). I have my G19 w/ Ctac right now. I didn't have to change my jean size at all.

edit: I use the same technique as AB. Gun in holster, pants undone, clip on belt, button, zip, tighten belt.

I'm fairly certain that I'm way too big for an IWB holster.

I'm probably going to try a subcompact and just try to wear pants with big pockets.

Wrong... I bet you're fine. Just need to find a rig and a spot that works for you.

:werd: this is exactly how I do it. It's a pain in the ass to put the holster on with the pants buttoned/buckled already.

I didn't have to buy bigger pants (32s)... but I did have to move one hole on the belt.

I really like it. I got it off eBay, new, for $45 with a mag holder as well. The quality appears to be top notch. The stiching, leather, clip, etc... everything looks great and seems to be very well put together.

Thanks. I just lurk there. I don't think I've ever posted. But that was where I went and searched for recommendations on a holster. They didn't let me down.
