I can't find many that are black(preferred but not necessary) and that don't have belt loops. I prefer clips, but not ones with stupid markings on them, like a big picture of a badge or something. They also need to be lefty.

Are there any specific brands I should be looking for? Something that's comfortable? I don't want anything that'll be rough, scratchy, or stick to my skin, I'm female and don't wear boxers so it'll be riding directly against my skin.

Will I benefit from a "backing" so the gun doesn't sit on my skin? I'm getting a S&W 642, so rust from sweat isn't really a concern.

    Thanks.:hsd:

I don't really want to wear a whole belt device thing to carry. I suppose I could if absolutely necessary, but I'd be more comfortable with something that hooks onto my belt.

Call or email lou alessi, I believe his talon line of holsters might be what you're looking for. He'll give you an honest answer either way if he thinks its right for you.
    They look something like this

Its a real pain to find a good clip, lou designed and made his own clip.

Thanks! You rock, this looks like exactly what I'm looking for. I found an email address that he posted on a message board in the last month and I'm going to shoot him an email. For anyone else who may be interested, the model name of the holster pictured is the "talon" holster.

Lou's a great guy, you'll probably have a response very soon. If you want to give him a call his shop's number is (716) 691-5615

Personally, I'd look into LadyFIST holsters.

Made for women. I would recommend the belt, though for the majority of your carry, the support it gives the weapon and holster is invaluable. Clip holsters aren't going to be as stable, but would be good for a short trip.

Thanks for the link. I've come across those, but none of the ladyfist ones are IWB holsters, and I'm looking to be as "stealthy" as possible.

I heard back from Lou, he is very prompt!
He said there's a 4-6 week wait on that particular holster, but from the photo, it looks like the quality's there, and the price is right, so I'll put up with the wait.

:eek3: Is Lou getting caught up? You can usually triple those number at least to get something with Alessi stamped on it.

I'm not really a big fan of a plasticy holster. The Alessi one apears to be built much better too.
