I've been wanting to catch a sunrise at this spot for a month, but shitty Twin Ports weather decided to hide the sun for a few weeks. But it finally opened up for me, and i was in luck with a ship coming in to add a touch of life to the photos.

    All shots taken w/:
    Canon 50D
    Tamron 17-50/2.8
    4X ND filter
C&C welcome and appreciated :big grin:

:uh: forgot to toss this in there: As far as PP, just a touch of sharpening, everything else is as it was shot.

I varied what i was metering off of for these. Some the sun, some the lighthouse, some the ship, etc.... I just preferred the silhouetted ones more than the others, but i can bring 'em up as well.. just not gonna do it this morning. I stayed up all night to shoot these, and haven't gone to bed yet. imma gonna pass out.

We never really had much in the way of flooding here in the Duluth mn/Superior wi area... the Nemadji River breached its banks and washed out part of a road, but that's it. Fargo was expecting a second crest of the Red River to be between 36 and 40 feet, which is lower than it was a few weeks ago. My Guard unit will probably not be activated for that.

Next time use some fill flash.... boat seems a little underexposed...

You should need about 25 flashes.

do an LAB adjust on the luminous parts, and boost it nicely!

can you do something about the spot in #2? Whether it be lens or sensor it's distracting, first thing I noticed in that image.

 i used the clone utility in Camera RAW, rather than after i opened it in PS to clone out a seagull that just looked like a smudge as it flew by. i'll reprocess the shot.

    LAB adjustment?

Did a retouch of #2. Thanks Someonenew :wavey:
Fixed the "Annoying Smudge," and the little bit of lens flare that was in this shot... as well as a LAB adjustment :o

Thanks! Any critical statements? Even nitpicking. I want to know how to improve.
