So I went to the range sat and it was a fuckup

Firstly the guy in the stall next to me is shooting a saiga 12. Home modified.

Well the fucking muzzle break isnt working. So his bird shot is being deflected around the divider and into my hand. After 1 round I had about 40 fragments in my hand. an hour later I had managed to tweeze most of the pieces out.

Then I went to shoot rifles. Im shooting a fucking 22. The guy next to me fires a 3 round burst out of a fall auto AR. He gets crapped on by the range owner.. only 1 shot ever 3 seconds.. "Pack it up and get out of here"

so I think fuck. This is bullshit. Anyways I keep shooting 22's for a while. Then without thinking I fire 3 shots in probably 5 seconds. The guy comes and starts crapping on me. :noes:

Needless to say I wasnt backing down because I think its idiotic. Sure center fire rifles could damage your metal plate targets but the my 22 isnt doing shit. I packed up my shit.. and left.

I really dont think shooting is worth all the politics anymore. YOu have a range thats "Full auto friendly" but you cant fire full auto.. makes no sense to me. Its an outdoor range. Its not like the backstop is getting abused any more than if I fired 4 rounds at a slower pace.

The kicker. My sister calls me because my dad told her what happened with the shotgun.. Shes ready and willing to sue. (shes a lawyer).. I dont think Im going to bother but shooting sure as fuck isnt fun anymore...I think its time to get out

I hate when I go to the range and something happens and it ruins the trip, I enjoy going to relax, but last trip my brand new 10.22 wouldnt cycle a round, still not sure, thinking its ammo, but when its good, its GOOD, but when something happens or goes wrong, I just wanna pack up and leave

I go once maybe every 5 months. Our private range gets a new piece of machinery to shoot at and destroy everytime we make a trip.

So it's always new and no douchebags.

I would love to have my own range on my property. I'd be out there every day in my pajamas shooting shit up.

My uncle just bought some land out in the middle of nowhere. His only
neighbor (that shares the pond on the property) shoots water moccasins with
    an AK.

Ahhh free 300 yard range time.

Only rifle shooting I like is hunting and same goes for shotgun unless clays. Only thing I like at the range is shooting the handgun.

last time i went, the range is wide open and they put this guy in a lane right next to me. whatever i can deal with it i thought. so i notice that he's taking a shot, then there is a pause, i hear him rack his slide, and he takes another shot. he repeated this for about 15 rounds or so.

so i go to throw away some empty boxes, and i notice that he'd fire a round and his mag would fall out. i watch him pick up his mag ram it home and rack it, the whole time he's got it pointed at the divider thats between us.

so i grabbed my shit and went out to the front desk, and told the dude behind the counter.

then after the guy leaves i go back in to finish my time and these asian dudes who speak zero english show up. they're shooting an AR at a target thats all of about 7 feet away. thats a big :nono: at my range. they got bounced too.

all in all it was a weird trip, and almost unenjoyable.

Maybe you need to change up your hobby a little. Play some games, try skeet or clays, do ipsc/idpa, start shooting really long distance, do bullseye competitions. If you're just going to ranges run by douches and punching out targets by yourself I think I can see how you'd get a little bored.

Yeah get into competition shooting. Much more fun, and the majority of the people are not complete knobs.

My local range is getting bad too. Someone shot down one of the return cables so now its one shot every three seconds.....and they have a full auto MP5 and Uzi for rent... :hsugh: I wonder how many rentals they've gotten since they have implemented that rule. Not to mention out of the 8 range stalls only 3 are for rifle use. There is always a long wait to shoot my AR. :wtc:
