I have tried db's and bb's for the incline bench, and it still hurts. Should I give the plate machines a try, or just stay away from inclines for a while.

Its a total fucking bitch right now because my chest looks like fucking shit compared to the rest of my body.

It's just going to keep getting worse and worse until he can't lift at all or needs surgery because he's too stubborn.

You're doing it wrong...I used to do the same thing to the point where I would pull the ball out of the socket because I over-developed my front delts from what I thought was benching.

I fixed my form an my chest has been growing for the first time in my life.

It's simply form, I can almost guarantee you, do this.

    First drop weight, then

Pin your scaps back, arch your back , rotate your wrists forward and make sure you're squeezing the bar, not letting it rest on your palms. Then when your pushing up, also consciously push your shoulders down, make sure they don't shrug up.

After a while, the form becomes natural and your bench will skyrocket since you're using your pecs for once instead of your delts

I'd definately say you're more knowledgable than I, but for me that's all it ended up being.

And I screwed it up to the point that it would pop out mid bench and I would drop a dumbbell.

    Since adjusting my form, I haven't had a single problem...just my $.02

that sounds more like you were suffering from glenohumeral instability whereas i think black jesus has a case of subacromial impingement

I injured my rotator cuff and had to take 4 months off of weightlifting. Totally screwed me over. Everytime I go on a machine that concentrates that area I get shooting pains down my shoulder where I injured it. I don't use machines anymore just free weights and benches. I think it's a pain that will never go away if I hit it in certain spots.

I had the same problem. I tried to push through it, and I tried lots of stretching. It only got worse until it hurt to lift my arm over my head.

I had to stop benching altogether for a few months.

So at this point, I should propably take a month off from chest work all together? Visiting a doctor is not an option right now, so I better play it safe. If there is pain, I don't lift. I really want to get some work in on my chest, but obviously don't want to injure myself.

i'm gonna have to give that a shot. i dont have socket problems but my shoulders seem to tire out before my chest does.

i just recently started using a wider grip and felt it more in the chest until i moved to dumbells presses.
