1GB. I'm not pleased with the sub-par video performance. Scrolling webpages is choppy and slow.

Though I'm still happy 90% of the time with the performance of my Dual G4 500. :o Granted, I'm not doing anything that really pushes it since it gets used mostly for e-mail and web.

You'll be surprised to know that the G5 can suffer from choppy scrolling too :o

Use Safari? I was using a friend's Mac mini last night and the scrolling was fine in Safari and he had the slow one with only 256 MB of RAM. :dunno:

I'm on a 1Ghz iMac with only 256MB of RAM and I've only had choppy scrolling in Firefox. Safari has always kicked ass. Weird.

Your scrolling problems are not characteristic of macs in general. That is a strange problem.

Try scrolling up/down on a webpage with a lot of animated gif's or flash advertisements using a mouse wheel, and then get back to me. I have seen everything, including the high end G5 Powermacs chug when doing this. Of course, its a lot more tolerable on the G5's, but you shouldn't need a $2,000 computer to be able to scroll smoothly down a webpage.

Yeah, exactly. You brought up an interesting point I didn't mention--I am using the mouse scroller. Oh well.

Yeah I have the Mini with 1Gb too and it runs fine (except for BAttlefield set at high settings....then it's a little choppy)
