i've been lactating due to pregnancy and can't stop!

    anyways...
I've never really regularly performed deadlifts. I did it once in a blue moon (like 5 times in my life) and i hated it each time. OTFN got me motivated to do them regularly and with my 415lbs max, I kept trudging on.

The past 6 weeks I've been doing it regularly once a week, and its going up!

i did 455 x 1 today with just chalk and a sweaty brow.

I wanna thank you all for explaining and discussing how its done.

PS chalk is much better than straps, I don't need them anymore!

The beginning stages of deadlifting were very hard for me too. Once I learned decent technique I started loving back day.

I've always assumed that since I worked out my back enough that I don't need to do deadlifts and the pain i had trying it discouraged me.

    turns out I was wrong.

    definately a fun lift

it was just lower and middle back pain.
the pump would be so bad i couldn't stand for minutes at a time.

i realized it was muscles firing hardcore, since i did deads today and don't feel the pain anymore.

I'm also rolling on a foam roller for my back every night to keep it healthy

what bugs me are the people who are like, "Oh I can't do squats/deads cause my knees/back are bad" and then you see them playing basketball or running on a treadmill five minutes later. lame

"I learned in addition to a torn tendon in my foot, I had a bulging disk at L4/L5. I went on to compete in the Ukraine 9 days later, then off to Lithuania a month after that. I was trying to prep myself mentally for IFSA Worlds and wanted to nail 805 after pulling 765 for a double. I think the combination of getting overzealous before IFSA Worlds and too many competitions were the culprits."

he was already hurt before he fucked his back even worse

    :barf:

but srsly how is a regular person supposed to be able to rehabilite him/herself without having a doctor who encourages recovery rather than avoiding shit. most people don't know better

i'm just talking in general. a lot of people probably get a sore back and go to a doctor and then the doctor says stop squatting :dunno:

i wasn't trying to pick a fight or anything. i was just saying I think a lot of people get bad advice to stop doing those things.
