I've been looking at a lot of different workout plans recently.. v. decline bench

    and none of them have Decline bench press incorporated into them. Are they worthless to do?

    i woudln't say worthless, they're good if you wanna change things up a little. awhile ago my bench wasn't increasing at all so i stopped flat benching for like 12 weeks and only did floor press, close grip bench, and decline benching and my bench went up from like 300 - 330

    To be perfectly honest, I don't see much use for them. I'd only ever do them once in a while to switch things up if things get stagnant. Only other good use I'd see is if you're a powerlifter with a big arch, a good decline would translate into a bigger bench.

    I do it as light accessory work at the end of my chest day.

    I believe most people use weighted dips instead of decline.

    dips are a lot tougher on the anterior capsule of the shoulder

    Most people do them to 45 degrees though so they dont feel it at all.
