Funny thing is, average sumo wrestler still carries more LBM than the biggest of bodybuilders.
Their legs are insane! I've seen a documentary on their training. Its difficult to watch the pain they go through.
I actually have a restaurant near me that serves sumo cuisine. Its supposed to be a very unique experience. Imagine a huge bowl of soup cooking in front of you. You are served a 5 course meal that is all created in that soup. But it is cooked in a specific order. The 1st course flavors the 2nd course, 2nd flavors the 3rd, etc. Sounds very interesting
any idea which channel did the doc? i'd want to see that
It was a really long time ago. I'll look around, it was pretty cool.
There is a 2006 documentary on PBS called "Sumo East and West"
I can't find the one I saw before. It must have been pre 2000. I remember they followed the life of a young teenager who had to leave his family to live the sumo life. The sumo masters were very rough. Forcing sumos into splits and even whipping them with sticks
thanks for checking dude! I'll do some hunting. Hopefully the torrent gods come up with something
i have a weird facination with Sumo wrestlers. They are so fucking POWERFUL. And their training isn't just "get fat," it's intense strength training, flexibility training and endurance training... and their legs are just UNBELIEVABLE.
oooh thank you
