ok well first off i always hated the ipod sackriding but it has come to my attention that i am getting an ipod nano for one of my xmas presents. will i have to use liscenced cds or buy songs off the itunes website? or will i be able to import mp3's from limewire? i know its the most newb question to possibly ask but with my other mp3 players i never had 2 worry about that.

just drag the files into the itunes window...then if you want itunes to make a copy of your files that you dragged in to organize them, click consolidate files.
you can rip files off a cd, it's called import. don't worry about licensing, it's not lame stuff like .wma files

I was able to drag and drop all the songs I downloaded into iTunes... no problem at all... I would reccomend DL iTunes now and start to transfer the songs ahead of time, that way on Xmas you will be set and ready to go...

iTunes will default to ripping your CDs as AAC files. Apple proprietary = bad. Be sure to go into the options and change that to MP3. That way you can play those files on anything.
