Mobile Me is officially here, along with iTunes 7.7 and OS X Update for Mobile Me
$99 for me?. hmm, i can just use IMAP with gmail and its photo service for free. .may not be AS well connected as me. but same job for free.
It's a hell of a lot better than just .Mac, though. .Mac wasn't worth the $99 a year. I honestly think this is better. But for right now, they're having some issues with implementing he web interface. But it's a big upgrade, so I understand
beat me to it.
downloading 7.7 now
wait. what? .mac was $99/year?
i dont have a mac, but im getting one in th next month. but definitely a service i wont subscribe to.
Looks like they took down the mobileme update
iPhone firmware 2.0
yeah, it was $99 a year. you might not want to subscribe to it, but try out the 60 day trial at least
Has anyone used it? I don't want to fuck up my phone.
I'm sure a bunch have already. Worst thing that could happen is that you'd have to restore from an older firmware version.
Do you have a link to the older firmware in case in case I need to downgrade?
You should be able to get the older firmware through iTunes as it doesn't recognize the newer version is available yet. ModMyiFone.com is reporting the 2.0 is working find. Keep in mind that if your phone is currently unlocked it will lock it and jailbreaking isn't available yet.
Nevermind, I'd skip the update right now.
Well, hopefully this doesn't brick it. If it does, it's not that big of a deal, but it would be nice if it just worked
i installed it. works fine. apps take a little time to load. but 2.0 and apps are
remote app is fucking genius
Installed fine on my test phone.
iPhone Config Utility out. Used for enterprise setup. If you aren't enterprise you shouldn't need it.
updating to 2.0 as we speak
Dev Team has jailbroken 2.0. Only pictures released now. Likely see the app to do so in a couple days.
applications are amazing
loving this. but wheres the mobile me update i cant find it
i found this: http://www.apple.com/mobileme/setup/mac/
but the mobileme isn't in my sys pref.
no system update avail.
Will I be able to restore my 1st gen settings to the 2nd gen when I get it? Or will it have to be setup from scratch again?
Think this is Apples way of testing the App Store for the opening tomorrow? Post the new firmware along with the ability to get to the store and have a "reader" contact ModMyiFone.com and MacRumors with the info. People upgrade their phones and try things out. If there are issues they can just say "We don't officially support that yet as it's not released."
