I was adding files to my library just fine by right-clicking and selecting open w/ iTunes untill it didn't work once.

The file in question is a regular .mp3 file that plays fine in the Zune software and Windows Media Player... iTunes just doesn't like it. As I started adding other files (mp3 as well) some of them wouldn't import either. And when I try to add a .wma file, no convert option comes up...

My first guess is a re-install to fix this, but I'd really rather not because I'd have to add everything again...

Is there a link I missed somewhere on google prehaps? Any help/suggestions?

    Thanks.

Some files are protected. There aren't special music files or anything, but they are protected. It depends how you downloaded them. It might not be just this though, could be anything really, but that's the only problem I've experienced.

I thought that, but the first one I experienced a problem with was track 5 of 12 on a cd... According to your theory then, only 5-12 would have been protected, which doesn't make sense to me.

Thank you though for your reply.
