itunes helper?

    what the crap is itunes helper? I updated my itunes 7.2 (big mistake) and it keeps crashing. and I can't reinstall 7.1 because it says there is nothing to install. so I tried deleting itunes, but I can't uninstall it because it says itunes helper is in use? helpppp

    Well before you can delete iTunes, I guess you need to kill the iTunes Helper process.

    If you look in Applications / Utilities you should find "Activity Monitor" in there. That has a list of running processes, just find iTunes Helper and quit the process. I'm not sure that 7.1 will install even after you delete the application, because it might find some preference files and stuff. Those will probably be in home / Library / Preferences.

    yea, I can't install 7.1 now. it says there's nothing to install? but I think I got rid of the preference files also? uhh this blows. damn 7.2

    dangit, I finally reinstalled 7.1 but it still crashes? do you think this is because of the safari 3 beta? if so how do I get rid of the beta?
