I had iTunes 6 for a while, and everything worked fine. I just upgraded to iTunes 7.0 yesterday, and I noticed that whenever I executed Warcraft III, it begins to skip all over the place while playing. The same is when you have it in that "CD Cover" browser mode in your library (The THIRD view button).

When you scroll around the CD Covers, the music skips.

    This is after upgrading/restarting/defragging, etc.

Anyone else have this problem? I'm thinking about downgrading back to 6.5, but that new "No-Gap" feature and some other tidbits are pretty good.

I haven't had that one but I've noticed that it will just stop outputting audio at random. Song will continue to play but no sound. If I pause or skip back/forward in the sound comes back.

Guessing they have a few bugs to iron out.

Is this a CPU utilization problem? What are the specs of your system?

So you're certainly out of memory when you run... anything. I dunno. How can you stand to exist with only 512 megs of RAM though? I'd put a gun to my head.

    Paging ftw.

I donno, I've been meaning to upgrade....nahhh no i wasn't. College tuition ftl.

iTunes 6 was playing music fine, you think the upgrade created a gigantic increase in demand for memory when playing music? While I doubt that'd be the reason, it's a legitimate inference.

I was hoping other people were getting something similar, I guess not.

New versions tend to eat up more RAM and processor cycles. Its plausible.

Do me a favor: I want to try something. Before you run Warcraft, start up iTunes 7. Then open Task Manager, find iTunes in the Processes list, right-click on iTunes, and set its priority to Above Normal. Then close Task Manager, play some music on iTunes, and run Warcraft. Tell me if iTunes still skips.

If iTunes stops skipping, I have a program you can use to force it to run "Above Normal" automatically whenever it runs.
