I am in the process of selling my current 2011 style 1911 and I just got a bonus from work so I have a surplus of cash that I would like to turn into a very nice singlestack 1911. I have a 1,200$ maximum budget, but that doesn't necessarily mean I want to spend all of it. My use of the piece would be for a range toy and nightstand duty. Looking at fullsize (5") frames. Night sites would be a plus but I've never heard of them coming from the factory on a 1911? I want it to be as accurate as possible on this budget. I'm sure everyone is going to rush in saying Dan Wesson, Les Baur or even Kimber, these are all fine choices and I'm sure they're great, but my question is what makes them 5-6-700$ better than an off the shelf Springfield? Also while I have everyones attention what are the reccomendations for magazines? I seem to remember Wilson Combat being all the rage a few years ago, still true? Do the 8 rounders feed as well as the standard 7 round ones?
