A&P It's not every day you find a bird that freezes for the camera

    Nothing overly special about the pics. I just thought it was strange that this young mockingbird was DEAD STILL regardless of how close I got to it. It didn't even turn its head as I circled around it! I could even get so close that my camera couldn't focus. In fact the bird wouldn't budge until I touched it, at which point it finally flew off.

    My friend said they may instinctively freeze or play dead when afraid or whatever. I've heard of some animals doing this, but not a mockingbird. :dunno:

    Lol, I read that as STILL DEAD at first.

    Looks like you did a good job at getting as low to the ground as possible. Helps shots like these a lot.
