I had always been slightly interested in anime, ever since seeing inuyasha and love hina a few years back, but exactly one year ago, last spring break, I watched genshiken my addiction began. Since then, it has only grown after watching series such as Scrapped Princess, GTO, Full Metal Alchemist, tsukuyomi moon phase, and so many more.

How long have you watched anime? Which series really pulled you in? I've tried to stop watching before, but have had no success. The Spring lineup is looking pretty awesome as well

Naruto was my hook. :o I don't know when I became addicted, I think it was around the Chuunin exams. Not sure when that was but since then, I've gotten slowly addicted ever since. :o I've recently tried to cut back on my anime watching since baseball season is around and I can focus my attention on that now.

 naruto was great until the flashbacks and fillers became overwhelming.. I can't watch more than two minutes of it without beginning to skip through the episode anymore

I hate the anime right now, but it will always hold a special place in my heart as the first real anime I started watching. :o

But seriously, I've gone through some pretty fucking otakuish stages in my anime addiction. I've spent some entire weekends in my pajamas watching anime from saturday morning till sunday night, only taking breaks to shower, eat, shit, and piss. Sometimes I would blow off my friends because I just had to go home and watch the end of a series that I really liked. :o

Have any of you been to any anime conventions? There have been a couple times I've considered going to the anime expo in LA.. but I've always decided not to go from fear of super-otakus. Maybe I'll go this year :o

I need to go one time, but there's none around the NYC area that I know of. Surprising, you'd expect NYC to have a big one. :dunno:

i'd say 4 years ago. I actually watched most of DBZ's before then but it didn't really got me into animes. It was my friend who was so into anime. I think he recommended me to start watching Lain, Cowboy Bebop and Trigun. I got hooked since then. :o

I was always interested in anime but not always addicted.

I really got into Rurouni Kenshin up until the end of the Kyoto arc. That's probably what really "hooked" me. Before that, all I'd really seen were the movies: Akira, Ghost in the Shell, Ninja Scroll, Perfect Blue. I liked them well enough, but I really loved Kenshin and then Cowboy Bebop and then Azumanga Daioh.

    Then Bleach happened. :o

I still haven't seen Naruto or Evangelion or a bunch of other "must see" series that everyone always talks about. :hs:

I stopped by for one day of Anime Expo in Anaheim these past two years. My friend Laura cosplays and we hang out when she comes down here for that. This year my gf wants to go for the whole weekend. :o It's pretty fun.

Just stay away from the Masquerade and karaoke events and you should be ok. :hsugh:

5 maybe 6 years? Not too sure. Betterman and Bebop both pulled me in showed me the different ways anime could go.
