I can typically tell if I will have a good day or not just by how I'm feeling :o

almost 3 yrs now (probably closer to two and half) and i haven't taken more than 2 days off in a row since i got back into it. I really should.

But i only lift each muscle group once a week, so its hard to feel like i need it. (altho again, i know i should.)

p.s. for the obligatory, you've been lifting for almost 3 yrs and arent' any bigger or stronger than you are????? you must be doing it wrong.

For 1.5-2 years of that, yes, i was definitely doing it wrong--and maybe still am.

That's what I do now. Taking a complete week off only seems to make me weaker in some of my lifts. :hs:

personalthing some people just take days off and do nothing. others lower the weights so they can still go to the gym but still recover

im at about 6 months w/ no more than 1 day off in a row, and havn't lowered anything yet.

would not like to stop altogether, so doing like half weight, would that be good?

edit: for a week, since i am on a 5 day split.

thanks...i keep it simple really, i have a split that looks like this right now.

    mon: back + light biceps
    tues: chest + light triceps
    wed: rest
    thursday: shoulders/traps
    friday: legs
    saturday: heavy arms

compound heavy movements never go under 6 reps though.
