This is ice formed on the western shore of Lake Superior... C&C appreciated.
I like 3 and 4.
me too... 2 is too busy, and 1 is just kinda... meh.
4 is by far the best one. Looks like a a miniature mountain
I had similar motive once->
Think my biggest mistake was trying to shoot most of those at night. And now i'm sick and heading to the bathroom every 5 minutes, so i'm afraid to go out and re-shoot.
i like 3 but wish it was a bit brighter
Yeah night time didn't help the shots any. Might have worked really well if you had a blue street lamp near enough to use.
3 is awesome!!
I think the shadows were working against you. Need some more lights from different angles.
This is literally the shore of lake superior... closest street lamp is about 30 yards away, and on the other side of the ice ledge. All the light i was pulling was ambient light cast from the city 1/2 mile up the shore.
I guess it's time to invest in some off camera lighting, and learn how to use it properly.
I like 3, wish it had a little more exposure on the foreground though.
You and me both. Who would think that lights would be so expensive?
i like them all, but im a nut for this stuff.
I'm going to hit the same area tomorrow morning, rather than at midnight. If i'm lucky, i'll be out there before dawn, and it's a clear enough day that i'll have a nice sunrise to light the subject.
