it's a portable HD. You can upload images off of your card on the go.

doubt it reads them but I'm sure you can dump the files on it.

Not for playback but I can shoot RAW + small jpg and view the jpg images. I bought this mainly as a way to dump my RAW files from my CF cards in the field if I happen to run out of room on the cards.

Yes. There are some newer versions that have 80GB and more. The one I really liked was around $500. Too rich for me.

you, of all people, went with a $75 used version rather than the $500 new one that you wanted?

To me, this is only a back up device, not a primary tool. I doubt that it will get much use. It's one of those things that's been on my "list of items to buy when I can find a used one". It came up for sale last night so I snatched it.

Also, it's a lot cheaper than buying more CF cards. I have 4-4GB cards now.

Naw...I'm not gonna buy that tank. If the lens hadn't been damaged, I might have seriously considered it. I just don't trust a lens that has been repaired, especially by a shop other than Canon.

I'm considering one of the photo adapter thingys, but I don't hear good things about them.
