I hear that you should do the body parts every other day and only a couple times a week. I wanted to test this theory and I said why not by doing chest more than often. Every workout even if it wasnt a full chest workout, I did numerous different exercises and maybe worked my chest 3 times a week. The strongest body part is of coarse my chest, which is also the part i get the most compliments about. I seem to be gaining more size and defintion when i continually hit these body areas more often. Instead of doing the 2 body part per workout rountine, ill do about 3 and noticed better results. By far as results im still a weak kid and a light one as well, but have gained alot of strength in numbers and peolpe noticed the change. I also noticed that an area that needs much improvement is my shoulders, so ill do the full workout 2 times a week, but then do a mini workout another 2 times a week maybe 2 exercises. Now that is an area im started to get compliement on to. BUt i really dont know if im pushing the limit and actually tearing to much tissue, or hurting myself in the long run.

Also most books say you shouldnt be at the gym longer than 1 hour because you are actually starting to burn more fat, or loss potential growth size is this true?

It's not important what books say if it's working for you. You can find books contradicting other books but results are results.

ciffs. from what i heard you should work out 2 body parts every other day for rest and optimum growth. Me hitting that same body part 4 times a week i saw the most growth, but is this doing any harm?

If you can't hit something adequately two times a week then you're not working hard enough.

I think a lot of it depends.

That may be true for people on juice & the genetically gifted, but I found that when I cut back my volume a lot, I started gaining a lot more strength and size...but I'm also natural.

Bulgarian weightlifters squat 6 days a week. I guess they don't train hard enough.

Well, whatever works for you. The only problem with this approach is that you might eventually "burn out" and stop seeing results.

I'll give that a shot when I start training for the olympics.

They also carefully manage their volume and intensity. The average gym rat is going to be a little different.

the fact that you describe yourself as small and weak and have the routine you are using tells me you really havent been dedicated to a true routine and diet. so you don't really have a base of comparison.

Well i consider myself that when im comparing myself to others. Even though i think im still weak, i started out quite pathetic and seen which i beleive a good amount of progress. Maybe not in weight, but in muscle mass and strength. For example about 10 months ago I started out and I could only bench 65 lbs and that is horrible. Even though i dont think it is great, I can now bench 160 lbs. I only weight 170 and im 6'2" so i know im very underweight but im working on that. To myself that is great progress, but I know to most of you something like that is not adequate. With my college scheudle, work schedule, owning a small business schedule i cant educate myself as much as I would like or focus on my training.

Dude ill tell you something, but don't pass it on to anyone. The reason why u get compliments about chest is because thats the only thing people look at. You can have the best back in the world and noone but a fellow lifter would give a rats ass, unless you got the gunz and chest.
