We're (society) getting to the point where more and more companies are slowly increasing their IT budgets to update servers, hire more staff, train, etc.

Anyone else feeling the positive effects of this? :blue:

I'm the sole web developer for a small college. They are finally starting to see the value of the web so I am finally going to get some help. I'm still waiting to find out if I get a new boss or a new direct report :hs:

    Damn reorg.

Yep. I work at a paving company doing computer stuff (basic IT, web design, some MS Access stuff). These days even a paving company needs two computer guys.

I would say that mine simply cut off the dead weight, forcing us to evolve as a department, and now, after months of maintaining the same velocity, we're accelerating towards our goals for growing.

In short, I get to spend money :joshers: and start molding the servers to what I foresee in my "vision" so that I can finally not have to work oddball hours :mamoru:

The other guy at my company who does IT has a plan for us. Basically, whenever they ask if they can use something old, we just say it won't work and they buy something new instead :mamoru:

Yeah my company is in the process of supplying the top stores with computers to access an online inventory system i'm setting up. They're also planning on buying more systems for the main hq offices. I wish they would increase my pay, i work for mere pennies writing asp.net for the website, queries for access, and now vb.net to create a app for the stores to use. So yeah I see an increase in tech, just wish it was an increase in my pay. anything under 20k is
