Going to look for a film SLR, 35mm, much cheaper AND you get full frame. Going to shoot landscapes (and include sun too where digital fails), night\astro shots, long exposures in general, not to mention the cheap lenses advantage and unlimited resolution

Is there a film crew here?

Cool. Have fun above 400 ISO, getting good scans, and spending time/money to get it developed.

Better resolution and bigger frame. Film is still superior to digital in many ways.

I with you dude. My horse and buggy needs no gas, and if times get hard and my Eastman Kodak shares halve again, I can't eat a Kia to survive. Keep fighting the fight, bro. I'm still coming to pick you up, but Nessy is acting up again, so it might take a little longer than I thought.

Film has its places, but it will get old real quick.

if you're doing this for fun, have a ball.

not in the 35mm format that you are coveting. You want to shoot landscapes in 35mm? Let me know how that works out for you.

I srsly hope you're just trying to troll.... DSLR's have become so advanced there's little to any advantage to shooting film over digital @ 35mm. Now, if you're talking about Medium or Large Format I'll agree.

I found the biggest advantage of shooting film for me was just how much it slowed me down. I though about composure, exposure, focus, ect much more.

I kinda dug that. Heck, if the OP can accomplish what he wants with film why not? I don't think it's going to be any cheaper or easier, just different.

Something I've been meaning to do is shoot digital (whatever set-up shot I do), and then once its all good take a few film frames. Just carrying a film body with me doesn't take up much room and since all my lenses are FF I wont have any issues. I don't think I'd have the patience to JUST shoot film, develop, and scan but with my idea, in a couple of years I can have a cool collection.

Yeah, ok. Please send out a PSA to all 1D owners and tell them their shots suck cause they missed out the edges of the frame that they compensated for. :ugh:
