Does anyone have any good job search sites - other than monster.com or workopolis that have an abundance of Contracting jobs. I'm moving to Canada next month from New Zealand and over here there are clear distinctions between temporary and permanent positions. The sites I have been looking at do not seem to have any temporary/contract positions let alone specify dollars per hour or salary for the jobs listed.

    Any help would be great.

I have a few sites at home. If I remember, I will send you them tonight. Where exactly in Canada? Because I have province/city specific ones.

once you pick up a couple gigs, it will be easier to get jobs via word of mouth. Everybody who needs a contractor, knows somebody else who needs a contractor.

Oh, and I don't know Canada that well, or even the area you're going, but get involved in local groups of your expertise. I always pick up good work from those things.

When I was doing my job hunt, I used a recruitment company called CNC Global. (www.cncglobal.com) They were very professional, hard working, and put my interest forward. They do have a list of jobs posted on their page too.

Good luck on the job hunt!

Thanks all that would be great.

I was wondering what it was like over there - if companies seek contractors out themselves rather than using recruitment companies (as they could get a better deal)
