AMD's announcing Barcelona and it's slower and not up to spec as first expected.....

News releases already expecting Intel to drop Quad cores more already :mamoru: and also Intel just released Q4 forecast and it's HIGHER !!

    Poor poor AMD :wtc:

    yea, AMD is hurting, methinks.

For several years AMD had the upper-hand and Intel sat quietly doing it's thing and then BAM came from behind and raped AMD no-lube. Intel is my hero.

Why am I not surprised that you're cheering for the big guy? I bet if someone made a movie about a rich dude who has everything he could ever want, and then he meets the girl of his dreams AND wins the lottery on the same day, you'd see it five times in theatre and then buy the DVD.

Just remember, AMD is the only reason Intel is still in business. If AMD went under, Intel would get chopped into little tiny pieces by the SEC before they could say "oh shi..."

AMD would not go under. Their desktop CPU offerings are a drop in the bucket for their total revenue. They make much of their income from discrete ICs.

So what's not to like about a movie like that?

I want to be that guy.

Nonetheless, AMD needs to remain viable in the desktop/server CPU market for Intel to remain whole.

Currently AMD is great for me with their cheap dual-cores that are fairly fast. I like them for budget builds and general computing. When I build my next gaming comp the Q6600 will be the way for me to go. I don't really have a favorite chip manufacturer, just what is best at the time.

Intel definitely doesn't want AMD dead. They just want them weak.

Competition in the marketplace is good. I am glad AMD is putting up a fight with Intel. Keeps prices low for the consumer. There, happy.

but the differences are: a) I know what I'm talking about b) I will explain myself and put forth useful solutions. He naysays and then says "no I won't go futher, I just took your answer and inverted it"
