went to my local fitness store to go pick up some muscle milk and i asked the guy that worked there which protein bars would be good for me (160 lbs.. pretty lean, trying to gain mass) and he said the best bar for me is the oh yeah bar. I came home and asked my brother about it and he said its crap since there is so much fat in the bar and that i need something more like met-rx bars. so if anyone has any opinions on oh yeah protein bars, id love to hear about it.

heres some info on the bars

It's high in fat because of the peanuts. I wouldn't worry about it- if you like the taste and you track the calories/protein and it works for you, it works for you.

Is there any place you can keep a cooler, or is there a fridge at all? Do you have a locker or anything you can keep jerky/tuna pouches/granola bars in?

But yeah, I have a friend or two in med school and it's pretty stressful from what I hear.

Yep, I hear you. I know what Maine is saying- sure, in a perfect world, real food is more satiating and "better" for you. Life, she is full of compromises. I don't think a protein bar a day will do you harm, and if it's the difference between eating and not eating, well- do what you gotta do.

I eat the Oh Yeah Bars on days where I can't go home during my break and work on campus in between classes (which is 2 days a week).

I really like the strawberry and pb, but the caramel and pb is good too.

Your locker doesn't have room for one of those soft insulated lunch bags that you can throw ice packs into?

You guys don't have a refrigerator?

You don't get a 10 minute break every once in awhile? Shit, if anyone in the hospital ever took a smoke break you can bet your ass I'd take a damn snack break.

I worked a 40 hour a week full time job while holding down 16 credit hours a quarter in an engineering curriculum (easily the toughest undergraduate program you can take) and taking care of my 2 kids 3 days out of the week. You have to figure out how to manage what little time you have and find out where you can sneak away to shove some food down your mouth. Obviously you have time to eat a granola bar or "power bar".

Word. I have a full day worth of labs, teaching, and tutoring. You bet ass I walk in with a few pounds of food stuffed into tupperware containers to keep me fed through the day.

I like the Oh Yeah bars. I made a thread about them a while back, nobody cared :sad2:

I don't like the soy, but when I'm driving home from my girlfriend's dorm at 2 in the morning they work very well.
