If you dont see that as a pretty big occurrence, then you really dont understand what happened

Damn that says alot about the potential future of the UFC and MMA all together.

  15. He's right. He should have been hyping this shit up to the business press, not the fans of the sport.

It's surely a very important and big event, like if the UFC had an IPO, but it has very little affect on the sport itself.

as in when he claims he has a big announcement next time, it's not going to be viewed as a huge deal and anticipated as much

Very little right now, yeah, but it does say alot about what the company and subsequently the sport can be worth and seems pretty encouraging to me.

But yeah, the average fan probably won't give a shit.

Not MMA but the direction that the UFC is going in the next 5 years. They're growing at a fast rate and there's lots of $ there now.

“The Internet may not consider this huge news, but what the people on the Internet think is huge and what I think is huge are two different things. But you know what? I think I have a pretty good track record. I think this is maybe the biggest day in UFC history. I’m so excited, I can’t begin to explain it to you. This is an historic day for me and this company.”

If he's using the universal we, and not just here, he is somewhat correct. It's the same shit with celebrity drama, people buy that dumb shit, and it only grows to mainstream news. I do agree that it's bigger news for hardcore fans and the business world.

I honestly could wait for the announcement, I really wouldn't have lost sleep over this however.
