Hmm, a sports car under the Boxster and a Porsche-branded Tiguan? Does VW want to create 'the people's Porsche?' :mamoru:

I think the return of the 928 is a great idea, though. A nice and cushy GT coupe that could allow the 911 to stick to just being a sports car. :bigthumb:

Why not, right? Take the Scirocco R, change the headlights, and you've got a $35k Civic Si competitor. Before options. :o

Keeping the GTI as the top Golf and then giving the Scirocco the R32's drivetrain probably would have made it more viable for the US.

The old ones were cool. So was the Corrado. :bigthumb:

Actually I would say the Cayenne was the harbinger of Porsche's death.

The Panamera would have been extremely appalling, but the blow was lessened because we already had the Cayenne. :hs:

I bet those 2 models will account for more of Porsche's sales than everything else combined (except the Boxster). :mamoru:

The 928 is hot. I honestly dont give a shit about porsche diluting its brand. The Cayenne set this series of events in motion a long time ago.

Yeah, they're a two-edged sword. The death of Porsche's purity, but a new lease on life as a company. :hs:

Yeah. When the Cayenne first launched, it was a nice way for Porsche to get the money they wanted to keep developing the sports cars people liked. :hsd:

The porsche was mainstream before it became the luxury horseshit sports car that it is today.
