yeah, it is.
How worthless do you think it is? Chances are it's even more worthless than that.
One of the examples I saw for why it was so great was that some guy who uses it happened to be in an airport, and he posted on twitter than he was in an airport. A "friend" of his happened to be in the same airport at the same time, saw the twitter message, and they met up in the airport for a few minutes (probably to have gay sex in an airport bathroom).
Too bad for that to happen, his friend had to be subscribing to his twitter feed.. which means he received about 9 trillion messages of "lol I'm pooping!" before he got a single one that was quasi-unworthless. Doesn't really seem worth it for 5 minutes together in an airport with someone that you obviously aren't THAT close to or you already would have known that you'd be in the airport at the same time.
And not being able to comment/reply to a specific post is fucking retarded.
This is basically worse than Facebook Status updates in every conceivable way.
it's a fad. don't worry
i refuse to use it, but apparently it's catching on.
it'll die out soon unless they add a lot more features.
i have facebook if i REALLY want to know what my friends are doing.
or my cell phone.
i dont see the point either. i got one, to try to experience it first hand, but it makes me feel
i am debating about trying it just to see if i get any traffic other than that i don't use any of these sites to tell people what i am doing in my personal life lol, they are tools to get me traffic
yeah that's basically all sites like twitter are good for is driving traffic...it's kinda dumb to not just use facebook instead for status updates.
i use it on all my blog sites... basically it just "tweets" when i make a new post w/ a link and it's another way for people to subscribe. I actually have more people subscribing to my twitter feeds than I do my rss feeds.
twitter is a good product...they took an idea that was already out there (short messages like on facebook, or text messaging) and made it better. Its a good service to keep track of the people you know and to find out the little things that they're doing that they wouldn't necessarily call you for or email you for. I didn't think it was a good idea at first, but now I do.
Watch this video and it will help you understand the service better:
I like Twitter. I don't think it's that worthless. I actually got some work out of it a while back. Plus the girls like it, so whatever.
And I don't use it anymore.
It's best used as a means to keep up with business contacts or people in your industry. For instance: http://twitter.com/garyvee or http://twitter.com/kevinrose.
the kevin rose page is 20 posts of worthlessness.
Facebook app on my blackberry + browsing 'status updates' on friends is about as much as I get into E-Stalking.
about the ONLY social networking app I use and find worthwhile is del.icio.us. Past that I don't use any other ghey sites of that nature.
