I made a thread a while ago about thinking of getting a 40D. Well I got the green light on the homefront, but with conditions. I have to look used and I have to sell my camera. This is the only way this is going to be budget freindly.

So I am looking at this

40D with under 8K clicks (5 months of warrantly left and receipt from B&H included)
    bg E2n grip
    3 SterlingTek Batteries
    Lowepro slingshot AW2 bag
    2GB Sandisc CF Card

    $1000

Now I have been seeing other people on POTN selling 40D for less. Right now there is someone selling theirs for 750 with less clicks. But the seller for the above items is also willing to create a Buy it now now ebay and let me buy it that way

It's a good deal, but not awesome.

This is how I'd break it down used market value, I could be way off.

    40D $800
    Grip $160
    Batteries $30
    2GB card $20
    Slingshot bag $60

You are not way off according things I have been looking at but I could be way off also. I am thinking that the grip is 165 new on amazon so it is prolly about 120 on used market and camera is about 750 on the low end.

when I add it up, used - I get about a grand total of a 950 value. beign sold for 1000.00. BUT with the Buy it Now, I get 200 bucks back costimg me 800 bucks for everythign listed. I dont even want the bag really

Sling shot is actually a really nice "bag" to start out with. I did, loved it. But I just accumulated too much stuff to even use it :o.

The BGE2N holds its value pretty well. I doubt you can find one for $120, maybe the non "n" series if you're lucky.

But since you get the $200 rebate, it's a good price.

another thing - everyone who says that their camera "just came back from canon for servicing and cleaning" do they contact canon and say soemthing about their camera being broke just to send it in or what is happening here? I would like to get a camera under warranty and pull something like this
