You want to play the latest games on a Sempron?
    Good luck.
AMD 64 Socket939, 3800 or better dualcore if you can afford it

    1GB of RAM?
Try 2GB for the latest games like Battlefield 2142 and FEAR and so on.

The on-board video is for office/internet users and some light gaming.
You'll want a 7900GT or GTX. A 7800GT or GTX will be ok for now as well.

Now if you really want to spend the bucks, AMD Socket AM2, at least 2GB of RAM and the new 8800 series cards.

No matter which way you go, make sure you get a power supply that can handle it all.

Why do you say that? I have a dell computer from probably 3 years ago. 3.0ghz p4HT, 1gb ram, Raptor HDD, ATI x800 and I can run fear and those games flawlessly, may not be able to run with all high settings but hey it works and still looks good imo. My opinion would be to stick with 1gb of ram right now and spend the money on a better graphics card. If you are on a budget, and also like wold68k said get a petter processor.
