I went to the range yesterday and put 50 rounds through a Walther PPS. Afterward, my hand was kinda sore and I looked at it and had a bruise right above the meaty part between my thumb and index finger. It wasn't slide bite, but an actual bruise from the recoil.

Am I holding it wrong or something? :dunno:

Maybe try squeezing your grip tighter? Just a thought. I've never had that happen to me.

i was actually going to say looser grip with strong hand and firm grip with support hand. Would still need to see a picture of your grip.

I've had that happen with a Kahr before. Kahrs have thin, flat little grips, too.

I shot two handed. Basically just wrapped the weak hand around the strong hand with the weak hand thumb beneath the strong hand thumb.

I shoot my p-11 50 rounds per range trip. I don't get bruises or bleed but it gets uncomfortable after about 50 rounds. Definitely not a range gun.

high bore axis = more muzzle flip. Even still it should not beat you up that bad. I guess you just have to shoot more until your hand toughens up.

Might consider some past shooting gloves while your getting used to your gun. Maybe do 50 rounds with the gloves for general marksmanship then gloves off and fire as many as you can until it's uncomforatable.

Generally it's really bad to practice if your beating yourself up. Your just going to develop a really bad flinch that is going to be much more difficult to unlearn.

sounds like you've got a lot of money to waste if you were putting 200 rounds of Def. ammo downrange. should have used it on a better gun :dunno:

so it breaks it in better?

man, i would cry if i had to break in my gun with defensive ammo :hsd:

$19.98 sounds so much better than whatever i paid for 20 rounds of Gold Dot

common practice is to shoot 200 rounds of defensive ammo of choice through your gun to make sure it cycles and is reliable.

One reason why I'm still shooting the hydrashoks. I did the testing and I got a few cases of the stuff.

Dont have too, its a personal preference CZ's are pretty well know for being reliable.

Now it it were a Kahr, Steyr, Kel Tec, Seebea, etc... definitely would
