I went into a local shop that my friend has had some great work done at to speak to an artist. I showed him the illustration of what I wanted, and I wanted a few changes made to it. He said it was going to be $25 for the alterations to the image, not that big of a deal. I went to set up my first session with him, and said I hoped to get all the line work done on my first session. He stopped me and said "Well, we don't pay per session here. We need all of the money up front and we can work from there. It isn't worth my time just to put lines on someone then have them go somewhere else to get more work done on it." I thought this was a bit strange and asked for my money back and told him "I needed to check my bank account" He wanted $1,300 up front for the tattoo which he quoted me would be about 7 hours of work.
