Pretty much my thoughts exactly, new competitors are always nice but not when there more overpriced then Colt, wonder what other new innovations s&w will bring to the ar market, mag saftey disconect anyone? :mamoru:

Let me know when Glock starts making AR's I might break out the VISA for that.

I wonder if prices will get worse, or better with the banning of imported goodies such as FAL and AK

I dont see AR prices changing but AK, FAL and any other forign made banned guns will go up, even if US companies step up to make them domestically it they'll still be more then foriegn counterparts. Only hope of prices staying stable is if the producers open up factories in the U.S. Cost will go up a little but not as much as with a totally new US co. making them. Hopefully HK opens up shop at the old winchester factory :x: hell I wouldnt even care if Norinco opened up shop I'm all for $300 56S1's lol

Good for the LE since S&W is very friendly with LE.

Suggested retail and what it actually sells for aren't always similar though. I'll be interested to hear it, I love S&W stuff. Its not alot of flash, but its a solid performer and about the best customer service you can ever get.

It looks like a cool concept, but not worth the extra $$ IMO.

Very true but 1200 msrp for basic rifle is still going to translate to about $1000 probably, you can get a RRA or Bushy for $800, or build your own rifle for less, not worth extra money for the name, besides I wonder if they will actually be building these rifles themselves or if it'll be sub'd out to companies already producing rifles.

smith and wesson can suck my nuts. rather than making something cool and different, they make a revolver thats bigger than my truck and each round cost $14, then they start making an AR? give me a break. we want something new and different, yet cheap to shoot ( no 500s )

:werd: some of there revolvers are nice, not a fan of the autos they make none appeal to me and I've heard lots of mixed things about them. P99's with s&w parts suck, yet 100% walther ones work fine..

Now if they went and copied the Sig551 I would be dropping my deposit on one now. But an overpriced version of somthing thats already readily available? I'll pass.

The price isn't bad at all, quit yer bitching.

My Bushmaster was $1135 MSRP and I bought it for $820 from my local dealer, so a S&W AR-15 with an MSRP of $1200 should be in the mid to high $800's from your local dealer which is very reasonable.

Again: The M&P15 or whatever the fuck it's called will most likely be around ~$850-875.

I'd buy one as long as they're quality rifles.

Have you guys tried any of the 3rd generation S&W stainless semi's? Mmmmmm they're nice. Other being a little heavy and a slight annoyance to take down, they're some of my favorites right now.

a new "assault" weapons ban is now in place, All CETME's AK's FAL's G3's etc basically any semi auto, detachable magazine fed battle rifle is banned from import. So, if you want some toys, get em while the prices aren't rediculous.
