Just bought this tokin 12-24 from B&H. It arrived with the lens cap just loosely sitting on the glass, and the glass was dusty and finger printed.

I had this feeling it was used or something, and then I looked at it under the light real good. This white shit is under the glass sitting inside.

What the fuck? Should I return this?

Even if it is dust it won't affect your image quality.

I would expect some dust inside the lens even straight from the factory. Plus, that won't even show up on your images.

Shoot pics with said lens. If the images look great, who cares? It's a tool, not a piece of art.

If it bothers you, send it back.

But it won't affect your images.

Aren't you the one complaining about having finger prints on your lens from B&H?

    edit: Yep! http://forums.offtopic.com/showthread.php?t=4266171

Quit fucking complaining and just go shoot with it. Yes, people have to touch these, yes dirt will get in them, yes they get scratched up.

well good news. i called B&H and asked them for help. last week when i called, i talked to a complete asshole that didn't want to do shit.

this time i talk to a guy for RMAs. he's like, ok let's do this. i'll send you a shipping label so you don't have to pay for return, and if you want the new lens quickly i'll charge a 2nd lens and send it 2 day for free.

then we'll refund the old lens when we get it.

wow.... night and day diff between their staff

I bought my Tamron 28-75 2.8 from a place in Denver, maybe 30 minutes drive away from my house and two blocks from where I worked, paid more then what B&H or any other online retailer sells the lens for because I didnt have the patience to order it. I got it home, there was a a scuff on the body of the lens and finger prints all over the lens as well......and I didnt complain, I knew that it was not going to be the first scuff on the lens nor the first fingerprint that was going to be on the lens.......and I gotta say, it took just as good of photos as if it didnt have the fingerprints or scuff on the body.
