I'm really starting an interest in more advanced photography.

A local place has a used Canon TI with a 28-300mm lens for 450+tax... it probably doesn't come with the books or the wire or any of that. it has a lens cover on it and a very nice hefty looking canon neck strap.

would this be a good entry level camera? or should i save and get a rebel XTI or a d40 instead?

i'm researching my options right now, but i bet you guys have far more knowledge about this kind of thing than i. please shine some light my way.

i don't really know why i bothered to ask people on here. i accidently hit the "n" button twice and i get a bunch of idiots replying just to point out a typo, with one person that has actually anything of relevant to say...

i see the humor in the thread title, but really, anyone have anything better to contribute than being an grammer teacher?... if you read the post, you will see it was spelled correctly in the post, bitches.

T1 is film, xti and d40 are both digital....

So it should be fairly easy to decide, since they're completely different...

I only come here because threads like this are funny as hell. Occasionally I learn something about photography as well :noes:

To the OP: you'll probably hear a few recommendations for Nikon, a few for Canon ... maybe more leaning towards the Canons.

If you are considering used, definitely look into a Canon 20D or 30D, and then spend a little more and get a good lens, don't worry about the kit lens.

If you want some recommendations post how much you are willing to spend for the Body + Lens.
