The outside edges of my tires on the exhaust side have a bluish tint on them ... is this normal ??
I don't think it is.
Use something to scrape it off.
Used to happen on my pilot powers on occasion...I think it's just some of the rubber oils coming to the surface from the heat in the tires?
Weird, is it a "slippery" to the touch? Probably gas.
That was sometimes common on tires after riding the edge of the tire a lot, then driving on the center. The blue stuff was extremely slick, and potentially dangerous if you got right back to banking it hard.
mine do that on both sides when I get them hot.
if its from turning then it should be either on both sides or on the front tire as well but it isnt, it s only on that side of the rear tire. i'm sort of thinking it might be that i'm running rich like Raider said. what is the easiest way to figure out if I am? I am getting some pretty shitty gas mileage ... talking about less than 30 mpg
Negative, just means you are running it harder on the right hand. I've been doing that to my tires for years. Its just a matter of the tires getting hot when running it hard.
Has nothing to do with running rich.
lol i only see 30 mpgs is on the highway lol but i need a vavle adjustment im talking 22-23
I have discoloration considerably worse than that on my front tire, so I'm pretty sure it's normal.
You've got a ways to go before you hit the edge of your tire.
2001 CBR 929RR
that's happened to my bike a couple times too.. i just ignore it..
yeah i wasnt thinking the tire was worn ... lol ... it has lots of tread left ...
good to know. i want to baby this little whore as much as possible,
He was commenting on the size of your testicles, not the amount of life left in your tire.
