Phoenix Gold Xenon 200.2. I wanna use it to run 2 Alpine Type R 10's. I'm using it to power 2 10" PG Octane R's.

I'm going to guess you are gonna want more than 200 watts per speaker. Each sub calls for 200-500 rms. I doubt that amp puts out anything close 200 watts per channel rms.

Alright, I've made up my mind for what I want. I wanna just run 2 12" Type R's, but what amp would you recommend, aswell as a capacitor ?

I havn't personally worked with Type R subs but I have heard that they are power hungry, so you want to look for a decent amp that will put out some power. I'm partial to kicker and JL, some OTers may disagree but they have always worked good for me.

For 2 12'' Type R subs, I would look for an amp that puts out 500x2 @ 2ohms RMS.
Don't bother with capacitor. Just upgrade your "Big 3", and make sure you have the proper size wiring.

Type R 12" run at 500w RMS at 2 ohms, the alpine m850 isnt a bad choice, if you like everything to be the same, it puts out a little over 800 watts at 2 ohms, a tiny bit under powered but should sound just fine, you'll prob spend 200 more for a 1000 watt amp, and not much of an improvement,
the important things are your power and ground connections, 4 awg wire and make sure you have the subs wired correctly and the amp settings right, and a little trick, find where you battery grounds to the chassis and scrape off the paint and use a star washer if you can find one that'll fit

Get a pair of dual4ohm typeR 12's, and pick up a Hifonics Bxi1607d.

    Done.

i am running two 10" Type R's on Rockfords new T15001BD amp with the PEQ bass knob. System fucking pounds and with the 18db boost @ 45hz with the PEQ knob it's pretty sweet.

Alpine type-R 10" (2 and 4 ohm), power handling: 200-500 watts RMS. (specs from the 07 line)

I'm going to guess that 400watts would do just fine.

underpowering a driver is the easiest way to blow it. Why purchase a semi quality woofer if you're not going to give it the power to perform the way it should.

If a driver is rated 200-500 watts, then you want to give it a CLEAN 400-500 watts, imo.

First of all those birth certificates are full of shit! Thats the msot they can squeeze out of that amp IN A LAB!!! Not in your car with its half ass battery and weak alternator! and like Jollyogre said CLEAN WATTS!....that pretty much means no rockford fosgate...

i agree with alpine m850. good clean sound and enough power. not 1 ohm stable though. rockford amp wouldn't be horrible if you're deck has a good crossover in it for the subs. otherwise, their low pass crossovers kinda blow.

It's not hard to measure efficiency: (Power Out)/(Power In)
Doesn't need 3 decimals of accuracy though.
