: 500$ for an Athlon 3700+ system(equivalent to 3.6ghz pentiums), with 1gb of ram, but 2 problems
: no video card, and no hard drive
: a good video card will be round 200$, a good hd is round 50$
: its 700$ and ill include a 9800pro 256bit version(not the cheap 128bit), and a 20gb hard drive with 7200rpm/8mb cache
: the 9800 pro comes with a arctic silencer rev 3 for cooler noise and longer life
: you can upgrade to a 160gb for 750
: 1 month old
: thus far
: its basically just sitting there
: the psu is made by fortron, which is a reputable brand
: the motherboard is the either the best or 2nd best nforce 2 from abit

: the cooling is the best, its a slk900U from thermalright
: the ram is pc3700 with rare chipsets by twinmos
: the hd is western digital i think
: the case is by skytech, and its aluminum with a pull-out motherboard tray
: the 9800 is from ATI retail
: and thats all that comes to mind atm
: no monitor

So I'm thinking of taking on the $750 deal (cpu, 160 hd, 9800 video card). What do you guys think? Thanks a lot.

it sounds to me like he stole someone's computer to get their Vid card (9800Pro) and just pulled that out and is trying to sell the evidence/line his pockets in one fell swoop, and then he removed the hard drive so you wouldn't know it was used and have it traced to the original user. But he also offers to sell you the vid card for about what it's worth, then he could buy himself a new, or better, vidcard.

Notice he also says nothing about any OS.
