Okay, so computer store at my school is offering this special promotion.

    http://microstore.ucs.sfu.ca/sfu-apple-ipod.pdf

Where you can get an iPod Mini for $20 when you buy Powerbook.

However when you read their fine print, their price for Powerbook is $1898 (Canadian)

But their Powerbook (without iPod Mini special) is $1774 (Canadian)

I don't have an iPod.. so I don't know if I should go for this deal or not... :hs:

    A) Exchange the canadian to dollars or
    B) Go on Apple's Canadian site, see how much the same powerbook & iPod Mini cost with the student discount.
    C) Don't be affraid of trying out the Apple site and figuring out all these answers for yourself. ;)

Okay.. on Apple site (with discount)

Powerbook is $1774 (about 1476 USD) and iPod Mini is $299.

So if I went for this deal, it would mean that I am paying $144 (about 120 USD) for iPod Mini..

It is so tempting but I also want more rams..etc.. :hs:

buy the ram outside of apple. apple charges a small fortune.

i bought 1gb for about 140? and popped it in myself. bottom of 12inch powerbooks have a tiny door you open and it's really easy to stick in the ram yourself.

That's a good deal ONLY IF you plan on getting it in the first place. Don't get something just because it's on sale in the first place. Most school Discount/promotions are good. And yes, get outside ram, I hear Crucial Ram is what Apple uses on their current laptops. I'm not 100% sure though.

For $120, that is a great deal on a mini. If anything, you could sell the sealed mini and make money back and spend that on the shit you really want.
