Romanian AK-47 with a black synthetic side-folder stock, about 15 30 round mags, soft-side gun case, about 400 rounds of ammo, and a sling for $450.

The rifle itself has the black synthetic side-folder, but the upper/lower handguards are a dark polished wood (mismatched, but I can overlook it). It doesn't have a muzzle brake either..

Guy I work with is wanting to sell it, and I'm debating putting part of my tax return to good use..

not really... its a glorified wasr with a shitty folding stock.
do you really need 15 mags? tell him you dont want the mags and work him down.

I could care less about the furniture, and as far as the mags go.. if he wants to give them to me for cheap, then I'll happily accept them.

I could get the rifle, and ONLY the rifle, for $375..

It's a good deal for what you're getting. If you're just looking for a gun that's fun to plink with then go ahead. If you're looking for a real quality, well-built ak then save some money and get something else like a vector or arsenal.

I'm looking for a shooter. I know it's not going to be top of the line and all that.. I just want to throw lead down the range. And it seemed to be a decent enough deal to me.

Well, it'll certainly fit the bill. For all the bad raps that wasr's get I own one and I've never had a problem with it. Sure I could get one that's a little nicer in fit and finish, but it serves it's purpose well.

I get my thrills on the range, so as long as I can go out and sling lead, I'm happy.

if thats all you want it for, i guess its not a terrible deal with the mags. you might want to consider a 5.45 ak instead of 7.62

I see cheap 7.62x39 ammo all the time. Can't say the same for 5.45.

As far as the WASR goes with the mags and ammo its a decent deal, I'd try to find someone to trade the tapco furniture to for some wood.

Furniture reminds me. Hey vette, what do you think of that furniture set I sent you?
I think thats the one I redid myself.
    Got it on any AK's?

For the AK, it seems like a decent deal. If it were mine, Id have to remove that tacticrap stock asap though.

Would he let you shoot it first? That way you could be sure it's a functional rifle that isn't all screwed up from the factory. Some WASR's are fine, some are crap right out of the box.

i'd say it's a decent deal, mainly because of the mags and ammo. but see if he'll take anything less. Depends on the type of folding stock, but if it's what i'm thinking it's a sidefolding with what looks like a tube type stock. Pretty crappy.

i think you have that backwards. if you have a source for cheap 7.62 out with it already. :squint:

5.45 is much cheaper, and its only going to go down in price.

Any particular type of wood furniture or just a wood set in general? Any wood in general I'd check the ak forum and arfcom for sale sections for a set of take offs.
