:werd: I could find deals all day long on used bodies/lenses when I started looking. for some reason I just couldn't trust them and went and bought new. It made me feel a little safer for some reason. If you're just starting out and you have the money to spend, research the body you want and then the lens and buy right from the start, don't just settle for a good deal

canon crew :h5: I have the XTi and love it. I started with a Sigma 28-200 and use it for the majority of what I do (although i'm about ready to upgrade) the lens kit is good for starting out and discovering what you want to do with your camera. Portraits, macros, landscapes, car pics, etc. once you learn the camera and what you'll use it for, then you can decide on a lens

there is no way in fuck you should buy that

everything about the ad says don't buy, and you're probably getting refurbished stuff.

buy from b&h and be confident, or buy from ebay and risk getting fucked.

i picked up a lightly used xt with a kit lens and a 4gb cf card for 460 shipped on potn. if you don't mind used and have some time to shop, you can easily beat the price i paid.

After 2 weeks of looking, I got my 350d on craigslist for $250.

people sell on ebay for a profit. people use craigslist like a pawn shop.
