I'm going to get hated on, since I just asked in a previous thread what a good stand/bag was and this is probably the furthest thing from it. :nono:

I'm trying to do everything economically as possible, so for very very ocassional use, what do you think of this?

    http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=3765558

It can be shipped to my local store, so basically it's $19.84 shipped.

    Thanks!

the tripods in deals like that are usually utter shit... but I guess the bag might be alright just for carrying shit around every now and then.

I guess a better question to ask, is what determines and makes a quality tripod?

It's my assumption that as long as the camera sits still still and is "safely" elevated it should be ok.

A bag is pretty much a bag yes...(I'm guessing the definite answer to be, "NO!")

Geez, so much to cameras, but it's a lot of fun.

it's crap. bought it before. the head fell apart from the rest. it wasn't sturdy. the head wobbled because it wasn't very firm on the body of the tripod. wasn't even worth the $19 or whatever that i spent.

What camera is this for? I guess for a p&s it would be ok but for a dslr I'd spend a little more the specs don't even say how much that head will support :noes: As for a cheap bag those can be found anywhere :dunno:

Yah, it's for a S3 IS that I plan on purchasing any day now.

Hmm, I'll keep my eyes peeled for a better setup then.

Anyone know where to find one for a good deal, or even better, a good camera deal site (such as dealnews.com or pricegrabber)?

    Thanks again guys!
