Is this a good deal for a Sub?

    Thats a good price if everything is in good working condition.

    Don't expect very good sound qualitywith a prefab bandpass box like that though.

    what kind of effect does having a prefab bandpass box have on the subwoofer bass sounds?

    Well it usually accentuates a certain frequency and makes it sound "boomy" If you are going for sound quality at all, you would be much better getting a sealed or ported box, or a properly designed bandpass design.

    04 have you ever heard an Infiniti Basslink? I can get those for 190 or so shipped. Which would sound better, in your opinion? I have a WRX.

    Yeah, the Basslink would sound quite a bit better IMO. But your friend's setup would most likely be louder.
