there is a thing in right click ~> "open with" that says constrain to 64x64 pixels. i dont know what that is, but i assume it resizes a picture. is there something like that to maybe make a 640x480?

terminal has a command line image editor, that you can use to batch resize.

i would have suggested that had you not said "something quicker than photoshop". :)

make sure you set up an F Key for the action for maximum speed.

iff you add a save and close action to the script, all you'll have to do is just open all the files that need re-sizing, then just hit the F Key of your choice every half second or so until all the images are resized, saved and closed.

its calleds sips. (scriptable image processing system)

you can have it resample entire folders.

    Code:
    Usages:
         sips [-h, --help]
         sips [-H, --helpProperties]

           sips [profile query functions] profile(s)

           sips [image modification functions] imagefile(s)
              [--out outimage | --out outdir]

           sips [profile modification functions] profile(s)
              [--out outprofile | --out outdir]

       Profile query functions:
         -g, --getProperty key
         -X, --extractTag tag tagFile
         -v, --verify

         Image query functions:
         -g, --getProperty key
         -x, --extractProfile profile

         Profile modification functions:
         -s, --setProperty key value
         -d, --deleteProperty key
             --deleteTag tag
             --copyTag srcTag dstTag
             --loadTag tag tagFile
             --repair

         Image modification functions:
         -s, --setProperty key value
         -d, --deleteProperty key
         -e, --embedProfile profile
         -E, --embedProfileIfNone profile
         -m, --matchTo profile
         -M, --matchToWithIntent profile intent
         -r, --rotate degreesCW
         -f, --flip horizontal|vertical
         -c, --cropToHeightWidth pixelsH pixelsW
         -p, --padToHeightWidth pixelsH pixelsW
         -z, --resampleHeightWidth pixelsH pixelsW
             --resampleWidth pixelsW
             --resampleHeight pixelsH

    no problem.

I use a PC at home, run a ftp server off a linux box, and use macs at school, so its easier for me to use commandline when possible.

Ill soon be buying a mac mini(1.25 stock) and replacing the memory chip with a 1GB stick, and replace the 4200rpm 40GB drive with the 100GB 5400 rpm seagate momentus.

Im waiting to buy my first mac till it will ship with Tiger, so the days left are rapidly passing.
